Standard Visitor Visa

You can apply for this visa up to three months before you are due to travel.

You will be allowed to partake in certain business activities, study for up to 30 days, and enter the UK as a bypass to another country.

This visa generally allows you to stay in the UK for up to six months, though this can be extended under certain circumstances, such as if you are receiving medical treatment or are an academic on sabbatical.

You cannot use this visa to get married or enter a civil partnership, receive public funds, or live in the UK.

Even with exemptions, this visa will generally not allow you to stay in the UK for longer than a year.
